Do an online quote for several different cars that you are thinking about so you can see the difference.
I have had both & there wasn’t much of a difference at all. You may want to try getting a quote online to see the difference.

It is a common misconception that a “sports car” makes your insurance more expensive.
In actuality all vehicles are assigned a “symbol” which acts as a numerical variable in a formula that determines your insurance price. This symbol is assigned based on crash test ratings, cost of repair, accident frequency, …etc.
Normally the symbol of the vehicle does not drastically differ for a 4 door vs. a 2 door, or the EX vs. the LX. You would see a bigger difference when you switch models or manufactures.
If you pay about $100 a month the difference in price between the 2 and 4 door would be about $5 – $10 a month.
