Do I really need auto insurance in Miami Florida?

Scott asked:

Auto insurance is really expensive, do I really need it?
I live in Miami, Florida and prices on auto insurance are through the roof. Can I get in any really serious trouble if I drive without auto insurance for a while until I can actually afford it.

The reason that insurance is through the roof is because most people down here drive like total retards! Excluding yours truly, of course. Get the insurance. It’ll probably pay for itself in a year. Try Geico. It really did save me money….

Yes! Its illegal to drive without it. You will get a ticket if you’re pulled over.
If you own a car(not financed) insurance is relatively inexpensive because you only need PIP. If you do finance, it is pricey because you need full coverage.
You can get better prices by paying the insurance in sixth month increments, as oppose to paying it monthly. The insurance companies always give a better price when you pay it in full.
Also, call around to all the major insurance companies and get a quote. Each company will give you a different price. You have to shop around to get a good price.

Do not take that chance you need it you do not know what can happen at any time find a way of paying for it than going to jail or have a big fine about $2000 good luck

Yeah the prices are insane over here but it is very important that you have insurance, if not you could get into trouble say there is a reckless driver and you have an accident, you need help or say you are stopped by a cop, you cold get into trouble for not having insurance.Try this, it helped me save a really substantial amount of money. I used to have Allstate but I felt they were ripping me off I had all these stupid plus stuff I was paying for and didn’t even need it, so I heard that Geico was less expensive so I gave them a call after checking them out online. I got the minimum coverage with them and I am saving a lot of money!
you should check it out or see if your company can give you a downgrade and. say instead of covering a certain amount of money you can get them to cover less and it will be cheaper. But be sure to do this if you have caution when driving and dont srive like a crazy person. Try not to get any fines or into any accidents and that will keep the rates lower.
Hope it helps and that you understood what I wrote because I know I tend to not make sense some times lol
    GOOD LUCK =D

Yes. you do. I worked for an insurance company for a while and I know that insurances are through the roof but your really need it. I know is expensive and even if you have a old crappy car get PiP w/ liability this covers the other persons car and upto 1000 in medical bills for you and the other person. it does not cover your car. It will be a bit more expensive than plain pip but at the end you will be saving your *** from a lot of trouble. plus when renewal times comes around you’ll get a renewal discount. Try calling different agencys for quotes. United Auto is pretty much the the cheapest you’ll find. they are an ok company just they take a little long to pay specially if medical bills are involve they really like to investigate due to all of the insurance fraud . Honestly get insurance people here drive crazy. if your in south florida try calling Mutual insurance group 305. 820. 0600 they have various companys.
