My car was totalled in a parking lot while I was in the store. The driver of the other vehicle has State Farm insurance and was caught. My 97 Chevy Venture was in good condition. How do I maximize my settlement?I just put a used engine in my car and have maintaned it very well .Any advice would be great.

they are going to pay you the actual cash value of the auto at the time of the damage.

The adjuster will run an evaluation to determine the actual cash value of your vehicle. You can explain to them that you just replaced the engine. They may require receipts confirming this. That may increase the value but only slightly. Just remember, your vehicle is 10 years old, not brand new so you aren’t going to be getting an awful lot of money
