A new Insurance that was suggested to me by my agent has checked my credit record and raised the premium for the policy. I don’t remember signing anything that would allow this when I transfer from my previous insurance nor has the agent inform me of such a requirement. It seem unusual to me that a car insurance would need to know someones credit background and could affect someones policy. Can please someone enlightenment with some answer or explanation.
I have a client whose car got rear ended by another car and he is suffering a pretty bad knee injury due to the accident. Can he file a claim with the other persons insurance company even if he personally doesnt have auto insurance? I know in the state of California it is illegal to drive without car insurance, but does that mean he cant file a claim for his car and injuries? Thanks

I bought a 2006 auto a couple weeks ago and when I called my insurance co. to add it, they said they could add GAP insurance, too.
